中文摘要 國際文憑係透過培養學生之跨文化的理解和尊重,以利創建出一個更美好、更和平的世界。現今IB在全球發展是已擁有195萬名學生、5,500所學校,以及分布於160個國家。國際文憑的目標核心是國際意識,涵蓋10項特質,亦即探究者、知識淵博、有思想的人、善於溝通、有原則的、思想開明、關懷、勇於冒險者、平衡,以及反思的。各教育階段之國際文憑,分為小學培養關懷和有文化意識的孩子、中學發展學生信心以管理自己的學習、大學預備教育建立學生的求知心態及準備有意義的生活,以及職涯教育為在最後學年為學生未來做好準備所需的技能並擁有興趣。本文旨在解析IB國際發展動態,內容包含五部分,即前言、國際文憑概覽、國際文憑的特質、標準及實務、國際案例及結語。
英文摘要 The IB fosters intercultural understanding and respect in students to help create a better, more peaceful world. Today, IB has 1.95 million students, 5,500 schools, and 160 countries in the world. The core of IB’s goals is international awareness, covering the 10 characteristics of inquirer, knowledgeable, thoughtful, communicative, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-taker, balanced, and reflective. The IB at each educational stage is divided into primary school to develop caring and culturally conscious children, secondary school to develop students’ confidence to manage their own learning, university preparatory education to build students’ intellectual curiosity and preparation for a meaningful life, and career education for the final school year. The skills, possessions and interests students need to prepare for the future. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the international development of IB. The content consists of five parts, namely, the introduction, the overview of the IB, the characteristics, standards and practices of the IB, international cases and conclusion.
