国外的深度学习研究经历了深度学习思想的早期孕育、深度学习的正式研究、深度学习研究的扩展和深度学习研究的聚焦四个阶段。发展到目前，国外的深度学习研究已经转向为集中关注“深度学习是如何发生的”这个核心问题，努力揭示深度学习的内部结构和实现机制。自深度学习研究进入概念化的正式研究阶段以来，国外学者着重围绕深度学习的基本内涵、内在机制和实施模式三个问题展开研究，形成了深度学习内涵的四种观点，揭示了深度学习的四个机制并提出了三个代表性的深度学习模式。

| 英文摘要 |
The research of deep learning in foreign countries has gone through four stages: the early formation of deep learning ideas, the formal research of deep learning, the expansion of deep learning research, and the in-depth of deep learning research. At present, foreign deep learning research has turned to focus on the core issue of "how deep learning occurs", trying to reveal the internal structure and implementation mechanism of deep learning. Since deep learning research has reached the conceptual formal stage, foreign scholars focused on three issues: the basic connotation of deep learning, the internal mechanism of deep learning and the implementation model of deep learning. Concerning deep learning connotation, four point of views are formed. Four mechanisms of deep learning are proposed and three representative models of deep learning are put forward.
