中文摘要 近年來大學透過校務研究,推動證據本位的自我改進方式似乎已成共識。然而,大學型態多元,校內資源與需求差異大,因此依大學型態或特色發展出的實務或個案探討為數較少。本研究以大學校務研究發展為主題,以台灣一所公立大學為對象,從學校需求觀點提供其建置校務研究組織與資料架構;研究方法以焦點團體與深度訪談來蒐集意見。研究結果提出以下建議,包括:以學校本位校務研究為目標來關心教與學的實際議題、逐步蒐集教學相關資訊以利分析與詮釋、從整合與校正現有資料著手、引導並鼓勵校內教師投入議題探索、協調人力逐步量身打造出專責辦公室,以及校務研究應與使用者充分溝通合作。此外,並建議個案學校可從學生、教師及職員、組織及單位三層次逐步完成資料庫內容,以做為議題分析的基礎,結論可供大學校務工作者及後續研究參考。
英文摘要 For the reform of higher education quality assurance in Taiwan, the institutional research (IR) is seemed to have been the consensus by many universities for promoting an evidence-based approach of self-improvement. In fact, the IR is still in early development and there is few mature cases on different institutions can be discussed in Taiwan. This study focus on the IR issues and help a domestic public university to establish the IR system. We conducted literature review for establish the theoretical foundation, then brought stakeholders’ voice by focus group, and invited scholars and experts for depth interviews in research process. According to the finding, we propose six conclusions including: 1.Starting with the institution-based issues on faculty and students really concern. 2.Collecting the teaching-related information gradually for analysis and interpretation. 3.From the integration and correction of existing information and strive for data correct and complete. 4.Guiding and encouraging faculty to participate the IR issues. 5.The manpower is gradually tailored to setup a dedicated office. 6.IR should be fully communicated with all users. Besides, we also propose a framework on feasible ways or models for the case university. The data collecting process should be divided to “student”, “faculty and staff”, and “organization and unit”. We hope can integrate the theoretical and practical findings, and propose the feasible ways and process when operation and application the IR which can enrich the reference value for government, universities and follow-up studies.
