中文摘要 本文探究臺灣師範學校中有關教育科之課程設立,其教導有關教育的內涵,能反映出具體且系統化的教育理論,也顯現出臺灣教育思想之發展邁入近代化之關鍵。本文採取歷史分析角度,研究時間劃分於1896年至1918年,此期間是臺灣師範學校制度施行的開始。本文剖析1919年之前臺灣師範教育課程的演變與內容,針對日本師範教育對教育學的定位進行說明,瞭解日本師範學校師法於美、德國的教育學說,傳至臺灣國語學校後,教育科課程所設立之科目選擇基準,亦瞭解其法令、課程演變,至教師的學經歷與教育主張。本文目的在於追尋臺灣師範教育的「原點」,不僅可看出師範教育的內容與演變,亦可瞭解師範教育如何培養教師的教育素養及初期的師範教育對於日後臺灣的師範教育課程奠下哪些基礎。因此,本文以日治初期做一開端,探討1919年臺灣教育令發布後,對師範學校教育課程帶來的發展,以及探究臺灣師範教育邁入制度化與臺灣教育學史再建構的進程。
英文摘要 This study examined the establishment of Taiwan’s normal school education curriculums, which provide instruction on the connotations of education in Taiwan, reflect on concrete and systematic education theories, and are also considered vital for the modernization of Taiwanese ideas about education. This study adopted a historical analysis approach and focused on the period from 1896 to 1918, which marked the establishment of the normal school system in Taiwan. The study analyzed the evolution and content of the educational curriculums in the Taiwan National Language School prior to 1919 through the lens of Japanesenormal- school perspectives imitated from American and German theories about education. This aim of this study was to improve the understanding of these theories’ influence on the Taiwan National Language School. First, the paper explains how Japanese normal education defined education. Subsequently, it examines the development of the education theory in Taiwan, selection of curriculums for use by the normal school, decree associated with and evolution of educational curriculums, and relevant teachers’ backgrounds and the teaching concepts they used. This study tracked the origins of normal education in Taiwan. The study result reveals not only how the content of normal education has evolved over the years but also how teacher education has improved teaching quality. Moreover, the results reveal how the early stages of normal education development laid the foundation for the establishment of modern-day Taiwanese normal education. This study focuses on the early stage of the Japanese colonial period, which marked the establishment of Taiwanese normal education. The promulgation of the Taiwan Educational Decree in 1919 considerably influenced the development of education curriculums in the Taiwan Normal School. In addition, providing an improved understanding of the Taiwanese teacher-education modernization process and of Taiwan’s pedagogical history is an important future research goal.
