中文摘要 本研究旨在探析英國中小設計教育的課程改革,介紹國定課程中含「藝術 與設計」(Art and Design)與「設計與科技」(Design and Technology)兩學科, 以及相關學者對2002 年迄今改革的討論,期待藉此他山之石裨益臺灣中小學設 計教育。採用文獻回顧與文件分析法,分別說明英國的文創基礎、英國設計教 育的發展背景與沿革、2014 年國定課程中「藝術與設計」與「設計與科技」的 教學目標與內涵,以及陳述學者專家對此兩學科課程改革之討論,重點包括: 以研究為基礎規劃設計教育決策、透過專責機構整合多元設計資源、課程的必 修或選修將影響設計教育發展、中小學的設計教育應連結擴充教育或職業教 育、高等教育也應發展結合產業與實務的設計教育課程。藉著探討英國中小學 課程中設計教育的發展、改革與思辨,再思考臺灣發展設計教育的方向與啟示。
英文摘要 This study aims to research the reform of the National Curriculum in England, particularly on the courses of “Art and Design” and “Design and Technology” with literature review and documentary analysis as the main approach. This research focused on the following concerns: (1) background and development of culture and creation and design education in England; (2) aims and objects for teaching and learning in “Art and Design” and “Design and Technology” in the National Curriculum; (3) evidence-based decision-makings for educational improvements; (4) the authority’s concerns for managing diverse design resources; (5) optional and required courses affecting the development of design education; (6) design education in primary and secondary schools connected to further education and technical and vocational education; (7) higher education in developing work-based and practice-related design curriculum. Some further discussions and suggestions made in this study could be of help to design education conducted in Taiwan.
