中文摘要 鑑於教育的不平等經常和其他不平等現象互為因果,近年來,臺灣教育部除了擴大財務面補助、協助經濟或文化不利學生順利就學外,自2018年起亦透過高教深耕計畫,期促成各大專校院落實關照經濟或文化不利學生的整體學習歷程。本研究透過北部某私立科技大學2018-2022年所蒐集之經濟或文化不利學生參與高教深耕計畫資料,以及多份校內行政資料,探討財務助學措施及高教深耕計畫對經濟或文化不利學生退學風險與學習表現之影響。研究結果顯示,透過財務助學措施與完善就學協助計畫,經濟或文化不利學生退學事件發生的比率分別降低了24.7%與56.8%。此外,財務助學措施及參與高教深耕計畫均對經濟或文化不利學生之學習表現具正向提升效果。研究證實透過外在資源的協助,將有助於學生突破家庭社經背景或環境的限制順利取得學位,亦能有效提升學生們之學業成績。
英文摘要 Given the frequent interrelation between educational inequality and other forms of inequality, Taiwan’s Ministry of Education has taken steps in recent years to expand financial assistance for economically or culturally disadvantaged students in successfully attending school. Moreover, the Higher Education Sprout Project has been launched since 2018, hoping that higher education institutions will take care of the overall learning process of such students. Identifying the impact of educational assistance measures on the learning outcomes of disadvantaged students is not only an important academic issue, but it is also the main basis for educational policy decision-making and planning of intervention programs. Therefore, empirical evidence is needed to provide support for policy implementation and to assess the overall effectiveness of these initiatives. This study used data collected from a private technological university in northern Taiwan from 2018 to 2022 as well as the school’s administrative data to examine the impact of financial assistance and the Higher Education Sprout Project on the dropout risk and learning performances of disadvantaged students. The findings demonstrate that external resources and support both play a protective role in disadvantaged students’ academic completion and academic performances.
