英文摘要 Peter Ramus, a French humanist philosopher in the 16th century, heralded “the age of standardised classroom teaching and the best-selling textbook” and was known as “the great feature of education reform in Gutenberg wave”. In order to explain the logic between the printing technology and the Ramus’s method, this study breaks with the Dualist Epistemology and Aristotle’s three categories of knowledge, and puts forward a theory of the media technology as a framework of metacognition on the Popper’s “three Worlds” theory and media ecology. According to this framework, this paper explains how Ramus adapted to the characteristics of printing technology, reformed the Trivium curriculum, proposed a new “textbook paradigm” and methods, and promoted the building of the new regime of education practice based on the printing technology. The framework of metacognition provides a space for artificial intelligence and the metaverse.
