英文摘要 The life adjustment education movement refers to the education reform that emerged in the United States after the Second World War. It focused on the field of secondary education and aimed to cultivate effective social citizenship, family members and professionals through education for citizenship, education for home and family living and education for work. It emphasized the spirit of pragmatism, social efficiency, and social reconstruction. It practiced the ideal of progressive education at the national level and further developed the concept of progressive education; explored the relationship between efficiency and democracy; and responded to the demands of democracy in industrial society. It also narrowed the distance between the school and the community and further explored the relationship between individuals and society.
