英文摘要 It is a long history of identity entanglement between teachers and civil servants, which can be divided into 4 stages. Stage One is the era of hybridity of identity, while teachers be treated as officials and officials also did some teaching. Stage Two is the period of given official identity as rewards, while intellectual were not willing to apply the teacher preparation program in the first few years as the normal colleges and schools were set up. Stage Three is the years that teachers were named by official, which existed in the whole 1930s and the period between 1950s and 1990s. In recent years, the treatment especially the salary of teachers and civil servants has been linked, while some policies have been carried out. To promote the development of teacher education and improve teachers’ image and position, we should further the research of the history of identity entanglement between teachers and civil servants which could reveal the underlying reasons behind these phenomena. As the findings both advise, legislation is best answer to the question of identity entanglement between teachers and civil servants, which means teachers should be endowed with the identity of civil servants.
