中文摘要 自古以来对《论语》“温故而知新,可以为师矣”一章的阐释,由于对其内在逻辑关系以及“故”“新”二字内涵的理解不同,所以产生了众多不同的主张,但皆未深度阐发其中所蕴含的孔子的师道观问题。由于《中庸》亦有“温故而知新”一语,而且与之相关的文本资源极为丰富,因此据《中庸》的精神以及有关内容以重新理解《论语》此章,不仅可以形成“故”“新”皆为“礼”的基本结论,而且使“温”字的理解可以摆脱以往过分侧重于以训诂探求文字本义的局限,从而赋予“温”字及全章内涵以生活化的理解和生命意义的解读,进而揭示出《论语》此章的宗旨在于突出学者的文化生命力和生命意义,其所蕴含的孔子师道观的基本内涵为:以文化身,以身为教,承前启后,继往开来。
英文摘要 Since ancient times, there are many different interpretations of the chapter “Reviewing the old as a means of realizing the new—such a person can be considered a teacher” in The Analects of Confucius. The diverse understandings are caused by its internal logical relationship and the connotation of the words “old” and “new”, but none of them has explained the Confucius’ perception of teachers in depth. The Doctrine of the Mean also has the phrase “Reviewing the old as a means of realizing the new” and the related text resources are extremely rich. Integrating the spirit and the related content of The Doctrine of the Mean with the chapter of The Analects, not only we can find that both “old” and “new” are important proposition of “rites”, but also the interpretation of “Wen” (reviewing) can be beyond linguistic meanings through over emphasizing exegesis, providing the word “Wen” and the whole chapter with a new interpretation based on daily life and the meaning of life. Furthermore, this chapter of The Analects takes the scholar’s intrinsic vitality and meaning of life as its core, and takes the inheritance of Liyue civilization as its purpose. Based on the analysis,    the paper concludes that Confucius’ perception of teachers including self-cultivation by culture, teaching by personal example, inheriting the past and opening up the future.
