This paper is written on the base of the monograph Shaping the College Curriculum, Allyn and Bacon, Boston, which was published in 1997 and composed by Joan S. Stark. He introduced some academic results in this book achieved by the foreign scholars in the types, purposes, molds of curriculum evaluation as well as in the culture scheme of institutions of higher learning, and discussed the meta-evaluation question further, which are of enlightening and reference significance for us in this field. The translator here adds some personal understanding and viewpoints in the paper.
