现代大学的专业与院系之形成既是知识领与学科专业化发展之结果，亦是大学作为科层组织演化之产物。本文以详实的中英文研究文献为基础，提出可从知识与学科、课程、院系组织以及学生四个维度剖析大学的专业及其设置，为理解与研究中国大学的专业设置及专业发展提供一个新的理论视角。

| 英文摘要 |
Academic programs, departments and schools are formed through specialization of knowledge production, and bureaucratic and organizational development in modern universities. Informed by literature in the field and research findings, this article attempts to provide some theoretical considerations for four perspectives of understanding and analyzing academic programs in Chinese universities：knowledge and disciplines, curriculum, units within universities（department and school）, and students involved.
