专业选择是大学本科教育中一个重要问题。长期以来，我国本科生的专业选择在学生高中毕业报考大时确定，结果很多学生的兴趣、特长与大学所学专业不能很好地匹配。本文对美国七所世界一流大学本科生的专业选择情况进行了比较和分析，认为专业选择应该尊重学生的个性特点，大学本科教育应该承担指导学生选择专业的责任，我国高校根据中国的实际情况探索专业选择的良性机制，使得学生的个性特点和大学的学科专业特点较好地匹配起来。

| 英文摘要 |
Major Decision is important not only for college students, but also for undergraduate education of a university. By comparing and analyzing the mechanism of undergraduate students’ major decisions at 7 American top universities, this article concludes that it is the universities that should take the responsibility to help students make such decisions. It is suggested that Chinese universities find a new mechanism for students to match their majors to their personal interests and needs.
