利用調查研究法與內容分析法，本文分析313位台灣省公私立國民中小學校長在「您對家長參與學校活動或校務的整體看法如何？」的整體意見的趨向與意見之特色。結果顯示，台灣省公私立國民中小學校長對家長參與學校活動與校務的整體意見是傾向於「有條件支持」的態度。其意見特色包括：一、校長希望家長「參與而不干預」以及「家長參與應因地制宜」；二、適合家長參與的類型比較傾向於是庶務性或非專業性的活動；三、而應避免（或不適宜）讓家長參與的類型傾向於學校行政、教學專業、學校人事、以及學校財物等領域；四、家長參與同時對學生、家長、與學校及教師都有益處；五、校長們多將家長參與推動不易的原因歸因在家長身上；六、正面肯定支持家長參與的意見認為，家長參與是時代趨勢，具時代意義；七、在未來推動家長參與的具體方向方面，校長們建議應增加校長表示家庭對於學生的影響力仍很大、家長參與應採漸進實施的方式、學校乃應站在主動的立場推動家長參與、以及家長組織的參與較受歡迎。最後作者亦提出對教育行政機關以及未來研究之建議。

| 英文摘要 |
Utilizing methods of survey and content analysis, this paper analyzes opinions in an open-ended question of 313 principals of Taiwan Provincial Junior High and Elementary schools. The result indicates that principals of Taiwan Provincial Junior High and Elementary schools are inclined to support the practice of parent involvement conditionally. In other words, in this study, principals prefer parents to participate in school activities and not to interfere with the administrative function of schools. The paper also finds out several themes of their opinions. The author based on the result of the findings makes several recommendations to the Authorities of Education and for the future study in this area.
