英文摘要 Educational theory is routinely cited as a basis for medical education practice. Problem-based learning (PBL) is said to be based on powerful educational principles and results in strong effects on learning and performance. But, professor Ferry A. Colliver indicates research over the past 20 years has produced little convincing evidence. The article reflects on educational theory in fasticular cognitive theory, and concludes the theory is little more than metaphor, not rigorous, tested, confirmed scientific theory.
