The ability of anticipation is a very essential listening skill in listening comprehension. It can not only reduce listeners’ anxiety but also improve their listening comprehension and communication ability. The paper aims to analyze the theoretical basis, the important role and the various methods of anticipation. Besides, the influential factors of anticipation ability will be discussed.
