在对人文社会科学、美国著名理工大学、著名人文社会科学学科等概念界定的基础上，利用《US News and World Reports》的学科排名，对美国著名理工大学的人文社会科学特征进行了定量分析，概括出美国著名理工大学人文社会科学学科优先发展序列。根据学科结构理论，借鉴美国著名理工大学的经验，联系我国实际，结合科学教育与人文教育相融合的需要，提出了我国理工大学优先发展的人文社会科学学科。

This is a quantitative study of patterns of humanities and social sciences in top technological universities in the US, using the subject rankings of US News and World Reports. The study generates a priority list for disciplinary development and put forward recommendations for developing humanities and social sciences in technological universities in China.
