| 英文摘要 |
The characteristics of the relationship between American universities and cities generalized by this paper include the anti-urbanism in the early years, more universities prefer "small" cities to "large" ones, the posteriority and diversity in their relationship. The paper then analyzes the geographical, economic and cultural causes that affect their relationship. It concludes with some reflections on the relationship between Chinese universities and cities.
