Jonhs Hopkins University, founded in 1876, is the first research university in the US. Its R&D fund has always been the top 1 of all American universities within the last 30 years. Then what is the current situation of this University, its mission, how to balance teaching with research, and how to manage international communication?With all these questions, we had an interview with President Brody. During the interview, President Brody provided a comprehensive overview of his University, as well as the mission, governance, evaluation and international cooperation of the American research universities.
