Based the data of doctor’s degrees conferred by degree-granting institutions from 1996 to 2006, this article firstly analyses the process and characteristic of the transformation of 11 disciplines in Chinese universities. Then it analyses the process and characteristic of the transformation of the main education programs in each discipline. And finally, it draws some conclusions and puts forward some suggestions.
