英文摘要 The report analyses the income level of faculty members in U.S. universities. It discovers that average faculty salaries increased by less than the inflation rate for the second consecutive year, and the real income of faculty is decreasing. The reports then compares salary growth rates among teachers with different titles, in different types of university and colleges, and with other professions such as physicians, lawyers, engineers, and architects. It then discusses the reasons for negative salary growth, which is not resulted from low growth rate, but unbalanced distribution, of university and college endowment. Finally, the report analyses the key components of faculty income, faculty welfare, and the income of part─time faculty.
