Duke University and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have partnered to launch a new medical school that brings the American style of post-baccalaureate medical education to Asia. the new institution is called the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School 9Duke-NUS GMS). The emphasis of the Duke-NUS GMS is to prepare physician-scientists or clinician-investigators for academic careers. this article (Acad Med. Acad Med. 2008;83:122-127)describes events leading up to this partnership and detachers of the relationship, including organizational structure, goals and curricula.
