This is a document drafted by the Executive Council World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). It formulates a WFME policy about international recognition of basic medical education programmes, reiterates the basic principles for accreditating the medical education institutions and progremmes. In this document, the author also formulates the aims, objectives, contents and methords for accreditation. Final, the author declares the WFME will publish a new Global Directories of Health Proffessions Education Institutions, and develops a new database of relevant accrediting and recognizing medical schools and programmes.
