A contact refers to an agreement establishing, modifying and terminating the civil rights and obligations between subjects of equal footing. This paper analyses interpersonal function realization in English contracts in terms of reference, mood and modality for the purpose of furthering our understanding of contracts and thus offering new perspective in teaching of foreign trade English correspondence course.
