In addition to philosophical pedagogy and scientific pedagogy, China's current educational reform is in urgent need of praxis pedagogy. Lesson study, as an exemplar for praxis pedagogy, is conducive to the promotion of educational research as well as the research on it. This paper examines, from the perspective of research methodology, the characteristics of lesson study, its role in knowledge creation, its means of verifying the truthfulness and values of knowledge, and its relevance to educational reform.
