少子化、高齡化是當今文明國家發展趨勢，也是社會發展危機；如何將少子育為良民，或是使「少子」世代不至再低落為「無子」世代，是當代文明國家的共同關注。日本官方研討少子化對策已近二十年，本稿舉其中國、高中及大學進行的「育兒理解教育」實例，以及以埼玉大學為例的師資培育改革，探討其對於同樣面臨少子化問題的台灣，在兒童教育與照顧政策推展上的參考意義。

Few-children and much-elderly population appears to be the developing trend of current civilized nations, but it can also turn into an educational crisis waiting to happen. How to sustain this of few-children and stop it from degrading to a non-child one is now a common concern of the civilized world.
