本文以「拼被」為主題意識,以「拼布」作為隱喻的象徵,分述此二書中圖文的交織及隱喻的圖像詮釋。藉由圖像指涉的「密碼」,讀者從中可以穿越文本在腦海中織出獨特神秘氛圍,幻化推衍劇情的強烈張力。《拼被人送的禮》滿溢的繁複美感,充分發揮細膩描繪的藝術性,拼貼出幸福的努力之道。而《傳家寶被》中許多特意的留白,也創造出讀者開放的詮釋空間,邀請了讀者在黑白游移之間深入咀嚼歷史的恆久性。因此,互文性為《拼被人送的禮》和《傳家寶被》帶來精彩的豐富詮釋,圖文合奏出文字與圖像藝術狂想曲。
在全球化的浪潮中,視覺霸權的優勢地位深深勾串起觀者生命經驗。《拼被人送的禮》和
《傳家寶被》表彰著多元文化的融合、全球化的視野、自然環境及動物與人類的和平互動。微妙的轉喻及借喻象徵物成為文化傳承的視覺圖像,藉由巧妙的接合為書中設定一種戀物的
隱喻,於是投射在讀者身上,賦予文化傳承無窮的魅力。
英文摘要 Chu Kuang-Chien used to say: “Poem is made from good art”. As far as the language format is concerned, picture book is the literary form of double media integrating both words and pictures.
Besides the word itself having the nontransparent characteristics, pictorial image would add the interpreting difficulty and fun along with modeling, coloring and visual angle in addition to painting
style. Nonetheless, these two books, The Quilt Maker’s Gift and The Keeping Quilt, manage to interweave the metaphors in a most incisive way.
This thesis adopts the “quilt” as thematic consciousness and uses “patchwork” as the symbol for metaphor to separately describe both picture and text interweaving acts and metaphorically pictorial image interpretations in these two books. Through the “password” which the pictorial pointed to, reader can intermingle a uniquely mystic atmosphere through transcending text messages in the brain, and imagining and deriving the strong tension for the storyline.《The Quilt
Maker’s Gift》 is full of complex aesthetics, and completely showcasing the delicate description of artistic nature in addition to filling the pieces of the puzzle to achieving the state of wellbeing. And
the special blanks left behind in the 《The Keeping Quilt》also create room of interpretation open to reader, an invitation for reader regurgitating the historical eternity crisscrossing between the black
and white, right or wrong. Thus, intertextuality brings out brilliant and voluminous interpretations to both《The Quilt Maker’s Gift》 and 《The Keeping Quilt》, followed with artistic rhapsody through both words and pictorials.
In the advent of globalization, visual dominance with its advantage would trigger off the in-depth life experience for any observer. 《The Quilt Maker’s Gift》 and 《The Keeping Quilt》 symbolize the fusion from diversified cultures, vantage point from globalization, natural
environment and the harmonious interaction between animal and human. Subtle metonymy and using the analogy of symbolic object become the visual image for cultural heritage. Through this ingenious joining effort, it sets up a metaphor for a kind of fetishism; then, cast right back to the reader. Ultimately, the act itself endows the cultural heritage with boundless charisma.
