Interpretation is an intercultural activity, in which interpreters should know the significance of pragmatic equivalence and the danger of pragmatic failure. Based on the analysis of pragmatic equivalence and pragmatic failure, the article aims to propose some strategies to achieve pragmatic equivalence and avoid pragmatic failure, thus conveying communicators’ intentions in a proper and fluent way and leading to success in inter-cultural communication.
