This paper aims to discuss a person’s features, problems and education as a human being from the perspective of educational philosophy. It claims that there are sic basic features of a person as a human being, such as “absolute”, ”intentional”, ”cultural”, ”time—limited life”, ”loneliness” and ”self—identity”. Nobody escape from these problems, which are distinguished so—called surviving problems. This paper proposes the concept of “education for being , an opposite concept to “education for surviving”, and gives some considerations to how to conduct ”education for being” within the schooling context.
