马来西亚华人社团中奖助贷学金的设立时间，最早在20世纪50年代初，60、70年代为其高潮。设立奖助贷学金的社团组织，普遍是传统的三缘性社团；而地缘性和血缘性社团设立奖助贷学金更为积极活跃。奖助贷学金的来源有多种途径。华人社团不仅通过设立相应机构，同时，它们还以制定相关的章程、规则、规定等，来保障奖贷助学金的顺利颁发，加强对奖助贷学金的管理。马来西亚华人社团设立并颁发奖助贷学金，产生了非常积极的社会效应。

| 英文摘要 |
The earliest time of the foundation of the scholarships in the associations of Overseas Chinese in Malaysia was in early 1950s, the climax time was from 1960s to 1970s.The Chinese Associations which generally founded the scholarships were the traditional associations, the Localized Associations and the Lineage Associations were especially active. The sources of the scholarships had varied ways. The Chinese Associations not only established relevant institutes, but also laid down the rules and the regulations, etc. to ensure to smoothly award the scholarships, and to tighten up the management of the scholarships. Through the foundation and awarding the scholarships, the Chinese Associations in Malaysia have extended their positive influence in the country and the society.
