High quality human resource is one of the key factors for building world-class university. The article compares the structure of human resources and the criteria for selection between China and American first-class universities. It focuses particularly on the academic background and degrees, academic capacity, source of teachers, working experience, and title structure of human resources. It intends to provide reference for building Chinese world-class universities.
