With the development of technology and society, American research universities have conducted some innovations accordingly since 1990s, such as placing importance on liberal arts and sciences subject, enhancing fundamental skills training, emphasizing freshman year, raising study standards, and setting up global studies courses. These reforms have promoted American universities’ general education greatly.
