本文以韩礼德的情态理论为理论基础，探讨了汉语立法文本中情态意义的翻译质量问题。通过借用情态理论中的两个参数：情态类型和情态量值，利用描写和对比分析的研究方法从词汇层面对汉语立法文本中的情态意义翻译质量进行了评估。研究结果发现一些因素影响翻译质量。鉴于此，作者提出一些建议以期进一步提高法律文本翻译质量。

| 英文摘要 |
This paper explores the translation quality assessment of modal meaning in Chinese legislative texts based on Holiday's modality theory. Adopting the descriptive and contrastive analytical approach, the present study carries out the translation quality assessment of modal meaning in Chinese legislative texts at the lexical level by the employment of two parameters: modal type and modal value in modality theory. The analysis reveals that a series of factors affect the translation quality. In view of this, the author put forward some suggestions to improve the translations of legal texts.
