本质上，大学是一个生产、传播与应用高深知识的地方，但在实践中大学并不重视对于高深知识的管理，更没有将知识管理作为大学管理的一种有效手段。在质量危机的大背景下，高等教育领域实施质量管理已经势在必行，但是对于如何进行质量管理，如何建立适合于大学的高等教育质量管理体系仍然没有明确结论。结合大学组织特性以及当前质量管理理论的最新进展，在高等教育领域通过质量管理改善大学组织绩效的核心问题就是如何有效地在大学内部实行知识管理。大学如果要从传统组织转变为质量组织，知识管理是不可或缺的手段。

| 英文摘要 |
University, in essence, is a place which integrates knowledge production and knowledge transition together. However, knowledge management are not highly valued in practice, let alone taken as an effective way of university management. Against the background of quality crisis, the implementation of quality management in higher education is an inevitable trend, although no final conclusion has been reached yeton how to establish a quality management system fit for higher education institutions. In consideration of the characteristics of the organization system in universities and the latest development of quality management theory, the author finds that the key to the improvement of university’s performance through quality management lies in effective knowledge management. It is necessary for universities to implement knowledge management so as to transform themselves from traditional organizations to quality ones.
