英文摘要 As an important product of New Right Reform in the Margaret Thatcher era in the UK, the 1988 Educational Reform Act prescribes that universities have right to dismiss academic staff by reason of redundancy, thereby greatly softening the traditional hard tenure. The reform of tenure system in universities in the UK has not only conduced to the early retirement and the causation of academic staff, but also intensified the power of administration in universities. Therefore, it has exerted a profound influence on institutional governance and academic profession.
