Dr. Fredric Litto is currently entering his fourth four ─ year terms as president of the Brazilian Association for Distance Education, a learned society of 2,400 DE professionals which in September 2006 hosted the 22nd ICDE World Conference of Distance Education in Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Fredric Litto also presently serves as member of the editorial boards of the following scholarly journals. Open Learning（UK）, American Journal of Distance Education（US）, International Review of Research on Open and Distance Learning（Canada）, Advanced Technology and Learning（US）, and Revista Iberoamicana de EducaciÓn a Distancia（Spain）.
