英文摘要 The national curriculum reform carried out by Tony Blair’s New Labour government has been controversial. On the one hand, it is said the curriculum reform over the last 10 years has made the best attainment since 1988; on the other hand, some critics believe that the following issues have all influenced the effectiveness of the curriculum reform: the negative response from the teachers to the reform, the government’s direct intervention and control, the threatened teacher’s professional autonomy, the justice and fairness issue related to certain curriculum areas, and the inherent tension within the curriculum objectives. Penetrating and analyzing these arguments may enrich and enhance our knowledge and understanding of the complexity in curriculum reform.
