The American research ─ oriented universities pay attention to the contribution to the regional economy. This situation is annually reported by professional research institutes and the report are open to the public. The contribution to regional economy refers to the changes in annual net income and career opportunities brought by the university system in the region. This research will provide some inspiration to the construction of Chinese research ─oriented universities.
