英文摘要 W. W. Charters proposed and articulated the idea of educational engineering first as the first educational engineer in the 20th century and made great contributions to the intellectual development of instructional technology. However, this big idea of educational engineering has been in the absent treatment by the professionals of instructional technology for a long time. In this paper, the author explores Charters’s brilliant idea and practical significance of educational engineering and reflects his professional fate in the field of instructional technology.
