儒家思想是中国传统教育的核心，它蕴含着丰富的通识教育思想。儒家教育传统以 “君子不器”为培养目标，围绕这个目标，重视人文经典和伦理道德教育，强调”知类通达”。中国大学的通识教育，只有植根于中国教育传统，对西方经验进行创造性转换，才能具有更加旺盛的生命力。

| 英文摘要 |
Confucianism lies at the core of Chinese educational traditions. Confucianism contains rich ideas of general education and encapsulates it in the goal “jun zi bu qi”, which means that a man of honor should be versatile. This goal also means “zhi lei tong da”, which means to achieve academic excellence as well as personal integrity. Together, the two phrases emphases an education in the humanistic classics and also in ethics. This study argues that contemporary general education in Chinese university should take root in traditional Chinese educational ideas, and also absorb western educational ideas creatively.
