The mechanism in Children’s Theory of Mind is a disputed research topic in the research area of Theory of Mind. ToMM─SP (theory of mind mechanism-selection processor) explains the occurrence and development of Children’s Theory of Mind by using the viewpoint of Modularity Theory, which gives an effective explanation to the core mechanism in Children’s Theory of Mind. This paper introduces the ToMM─SP model and its processing model in detail, and explores the breakthrough in the theory, the experimental value as well as some issues needed to be further investigated.
