英文摘要 The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of ego identity, of univ-ersity students, and to find out the factors influencing their ego identity. This study is based on E. The findings are as follows:1.Personal, family, and school factors account for the variances (7.5%) of students' ego identity.2.The development of ego identity is unsatisfactory in two-fifth of the students: They face a crisis.3.Humanitarian and altruistic values have a positive contribution to the development of their identity. This result supports E. Erikson's identity theory. Some recommendations: based on the preceding findings are offered to universities and the educational authorities.
