在全球化知识经济背景下，印度经济的高速成长在一定程度上取决于高等教育培养的大批高素质专业人才。在公共财政的约束条件和高等教育系统总质量较低的情况下，印度发展了高水平的高等教育专业教育，理工学院就是典型的代表。印度的发展经验表明：在知识经济时代，高质量和具有创新性的高等教育对于新经济具有特别重要的促进作用；在经济全球化的背景下，以往出现的诸如人才外流等问题有了新的解决办法。

| 英文摘要 |
In global and knowledge economy, Indian rapid economic growth depends on the development of higher education and high-skill manpower to some extent. Under financial constrains and overall low-quality higher education system, India has developed a high-quality professional education, particularly its IITs. Indian experiences show that high-quality and creative higher education has had significant stimulus to economic growth in knowledge economy and globalization has provided solution to previous problem such as brain-drain.
