培养出基础扎实、知识面广、能力强、素质高的复合型人才是高校适应人才培养市场化要求的必然结果。按大类招生、强化本科生的通识教育是实现这一目标的有效途径。论文从高等教育的目的、学生的根本利益等多角度论证了通识教育的必要性，并对目前常见的几种通识教育模式进行分析，指出高校应根据自身特点探索出符合自身特色的人才培养模式。

| 英文摘要 |
To fulfill the requirement of personnel market, the high education should cultivate graduates with solid foundation, extensive knowledge, high ability and good quality. A new model of specialty-free recruitment and strengthening the general education can reach the educational purpose. This thesis discusses this necessary of general education from the purpose of high education, the basic benefit to accordant to the university’s characters and reality.
