近年来，高等教育规模的扩大和学费水平的提高对拉动整个国民经济，刺激消费增长的作用受到了人们的关注。本文试图通过对居民消费结构变化的分析，探讨在中国特定的背景下，人们在扩大高等教育消费的同时是否会缩小在其它方面的消费，引起家庭消费结构的变化，从而产生居民消费内部层面的互相挤占或者替代。

| 英文摘要 |
In recent years, considerations have been given to the function of expansion of Chinese higher education enrollment as well as tuition increase on short—terms national economic growth. This paper explores so—called “substitution effect” based on the data of household expenditures. The result supports the argument that the increase of private higher education expenditure might crowd out other kinds of private consumption.
