英文摘要 The Distinctive University Education Support Program(abbreviated as GP)is an important component of Japanese higher education reform in the 21st century. Focusing on the various contradictions and problems emerging during the transitional period from popularized to universal higher education. The program aims to encourage higher education institutions to place priority on education and teaching reform, develop distinctive characteristics and improve education quality through competition mechanism. The program, which is regarded as an epoch-making trial on educational reform by Japanese higher education specialists, has gained universal acceptance since its implementation.
