Robert Owen argued that human beings are shaped by their environment. In proving his argument, he carried out an experiment with some success in the community of New Lanark which was reformed from a community of infamous reputation to a very good one. His success had aroused enormous interest and attention all over the world during his life time and is still worth our analysis today.
