The article seeks to perceive “comparison” in the perspectives of etymology, philosophy, the discipline and method. It deems that comparative research in Education is to compare two or more educational objects, ideas, people, etc. in order to identify similarities and differences based on certain frame of reference or framework, following basic laws. Research in comparative education is for the educational comparativists with verifiable identity to conduct cross-national, cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary research on the two or more educational objects, ideas, etc. within the nation-state boundary, following the generality of comparative research in education.
