| 英文摘要 |
Professor Su Buqing was a distinguished educationist, who had devoted to the cause of the higher education for over seventy years and accumulated a lot of practical experience in his lifetime. He summed up his ideas on higher education during the fifteen years when he worked successively as deputy president and president of Fudan University. His main ideas are as follows：to teach students to think and create independently；to insist on the combination of teaching and research；to deal correctly with the relationship between fundamental research and applied scientific research；to encourage students to excel the order generation. In this article the author will briefly discuss Professor Su’s ideas on higher education as mentioned above.
