签于高等教育公平在现实社会发展中的重要作用，文章着眼于高等教育的一个局部──精英高等教育，探讨这一层次高等教育公平的发展现状，这在一定程度上直观地反应了整个社会高等教育公平的实质，揭示了隐藏在大众化高等教育改善公平现状表象后面的实然。同时，本文从比较的角度考察了作为高等教育最发达的国家──美国的精英高等教育公平状况，以图加深对这一问题的了解。

| 英文摘要 |
Equity in higher education plays a significant role in social development. This study focuses on the elite type of higher education and discusses equity issues in this sub-sector. It is hope to understand and explain through this study the nature of equity in Chinese higher education as a whole, and evaluate the impact of massficiation of on improving higher education equity. In comparison, the study also analyses equity issues in the elite sub-sector of American higher education, which as a whole is regarded as the most developed higher education system.
